St. Aubin's Bay
St. Aubin's Bay, on Jersey's south coast, is a wide stretch of soft, golden, sandy beach from St. Helier Harbour to St. Aubin's Harbour. The best and most popular part begins at Millbrook and ends at the watersports centre on La Haule slip.
The bay is sheltered from easterly and westerly winds and catches the sun all day.
Food & Drink
There are plenty of cafes and beach kiosks all along the bay.
However, our recommendation is the cafe on the seafront next to the harbour at St. Aubin. All of the seating is alfresco, there is car parking behind and the food (particularly the panninis) is good value.
At the town end avoid the cafe, La Freigate, they have a problem with seagulls outside the cafe and the food is the usual tourist trap fodder. Instead follow the locals lead and walk about 100 yards east, there's an ice-cream van on the promenade with a small seating area that does good hot dogs.
A little further along is The Millbrook Cafe with a large al fresco seated area in front. The owner is one of the glummest people we've ever met but in an amusing way, even when the sun is shining you won't get a smile out of him. But the food's fine and the beach is only a few steps away.
Parking
There are a number of car parks along the coast from Bel Royal to the village at St. Aubin. However at weekends during summer they can fill up by lunchtime.
Swimming
Very safe as the beach slopes very gently and the sea is usually calm during the summer.
Watersports
The most popular beach for waterskiing and jet skiing in Jersey is St. Aubin's Bay where there is a designated area in front of the slip at La Haule. The only licensed operator is The Jersey Sea Sport Centre, you can book a lesson HERE .
